70% Sure

Our Doc gave us a 70% chance of having a son! The boy was sitting cross legged, so it was hard to get a clear shot of the junk. We've got our 20 week appointment in a few weeks so maybe we'll get a better view then.

C is especially thrilled. Last week, we saw the movie 'Towelhead'. As the film progressed and as the 13 year old lead character delved deeper and deeper into sexual awakening, C started compiling a wish list which included, a boy, a gun and an alarm system.

I'm really happy, but I find myself a little sad that we're not having a girl. If we found out that she was a girl, I'd be feeling a little sad about the loss of a boy. I don't really understand it, but as happy as I am, it is bittersweet.

Congratulations on your son! It's nice to have more people in the boy camp :) I know what you mean about it being bittersweet. We're only having one child and are sad about not experiencing raising a girl, but will not less our son any less.

Congratulations to both of you! My partner and I recently came upon your blog. We have been TTC since March and also had an m/c in June. We are very nervous now (4w4d). Our HCG was 186 on day 15 dpo. It has continued to rise, but we are getting the most recent one tmr. Check us out at http://cravingofmotherhood.blogspot.com/

Congratulations!
Funny how there is a loss with each gain.
My good friend who is having twins is grieving having one child to carry around town. And within that, she would be disappointed if anyting happened to this pregnancy, and the next one wasn't twins...Oy.
Now that I'm considering donor eggs, and I'm conflicted about it, I get a sense of loss when I think of a genetic child. Can you say wacky?

Your mixed emotions are totally understandable. We're still not sure what we would "like" our twins to be. (Although 2 boys might be the death of us) ;) Congrats on the lil fella!!
